Dr. Suat Günsel Nicosia State Primary School, of which the Near East Enterprises laid the foundation on March 19, 2021, and is fully equipped with a capacity of 500 students, was completed in 5.5 months.

Due to the decision taken by Günsel Family Board in December 2020, the first of the 6 state schools that the Near East Enterprises decided to build in 6 districts of the TRNC and hand them over to the Directorate of Primary Education Department of the Ministry of National Education and Culture, Dr. Suat Günsel Nicosia State Primary School is now ready for education. The groundbreaking ceremony taking place in Gönyeli Yenikent on March 19, 2021, the full-fledged Dr. Suat Günsel Nicosia State Primary School was completed within a short time of 5.5 months and will now be delivered to the Ministry of National Education and Culture’s Primary Education Department to welcome its students in the education period that will start next month. The ceremony to be held on Friday, August 27 at 08:30, will be attended by President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Ersan Saner, Security Forces Commander Major General Zorlu Topaloğlu and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Erhan Arıklı and Minister of National Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu, as well as other ministers, deputies, undersecretaries, the head of the Civil Defense Organization, the mayors and guests.

A protocol was signed between the Ministry of National Education and Culture and the Near East Enterprises on January 19, 2021, for the schools that Günsel Family Board decided to build in Nicosia, Famagusta, Kyrenia, Güzelyurt, İskele and Lefke and deliver them to the Directorate of Primary Education Department of the Ministry of National Education and Culture. Dr. Suat Günsel Nicosia State Primary School was built on 14 acres of land. The school, which will be handed over to the state in a fully-fledged structure ready for education and of which all expenses were covered by the Near East Enterprises, has a capacity of 500 students.

Saying that they are happy to complete the first of the 6 public primary schools, which they decided to bring to the children of the country, in Nicosia in just 5.5 months, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Near East Enterprises, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said, “We will hand over Dr. Suat Günsel Nicosia State Primary School to the Directorate of Primary Education Department of the Ministry of National Education and Culture with a ceremony on Friday. We invite all our people to take part in this meaningful ceremony.”
