The official opening of the Near East College Yeniboğaziçi Campus, which started education in the 2020-2021 academic year with 400 students, will be held with a ceremony by President Ersin Tatar at 11 o'clock on Tuesday, November 17, during the Republic Day, at the 37th anniversary of the foundation of our Republic.

Expressing that the effort to bring quality education to every corner of the country is a Near East mission and that investments are made within the scope of this mission, Near East Schools Primary Education Head Ertan Aligüllü said that the official opening of the Near East College Yeniboğaziçi Campus will be held on the Republic Day Week is an indication of protecting our republic.

Ertan Aligüllü stated that they brought the Near East education quality to the region with the Near East College Yeniboğaziçi Campus, which was established as a result of the intense demands of the people living in Famagusta and İskele Districts. At the Near East Yeniboğaziçi Campus, which is a privileged campus equipped with physics-chemistry and biology laboratories, computer laboratories, science workshops, library, painting, music, dance and other art activity rooms, multi-purpose show and meeting halls, open sports areas, dining halls, smart boards in the classrooms, the lessons are carried out practically and interactively with the visual and audio equipment used.

A strong foreign language education from preschool to high school
Near East College Yeniboğaziçi Campus educates its students at all levels of education from pre-school to high school with a qualified foreign language education system. At Near East Preschool, which started foreign language education from the ground up, "bilingual" education is carried out in cooperation with Cambridge University Press. Accordingly, the lessons are taught simultaneously and bilingually with two teachers, one of whom is Turkish and the other is a native speaker. In order to introduce students to different cultures and languages at an early age, French is also included in the education curriculum as a second foreign language.

At the Near East Primary School, as a result of the curriculum studies conducted with Cambridge University, with the Cambridge International Primary program, mathematics, science and computer lessons are also given in English. With the program implemented, it is aimed that children can use Turkish, which is their mother tongue correctly, and speak English as much as their mother language by blending English education with the mother tongue.

With its qualified education success in a foreign language, the Near East College opens the doors to studying abroad, which is every student's dream. Near East College students, who learn English at the mother tongue level, can choose either French or German as their third language. With its educational mission aiming to teach English at the highest level and being an internationally recognized and used EDEXCEL exam center, the doors of studying abroad will be opened for the students of Famagusta. At the Near East College, students will be prepared for exams such as IELTS, SAT and TOEFL, which are accepted all over the world, in addition to GCE and IGCSE programs, which enable applications to many universities around the world.

Named after Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel's grandfather, Halil Günsel, there is an amphitheater for 450 people as well as many meeting rooms in the Congress and Culture Center. Halil Günsel Culture and Congress Center, which will enrich the lives of the people of the region with the congresses and events it hosts, aims to make art and culture an indispensable part of the lives of students and the local community with the exhibitions to be held in the multi-purpose exhibition hall.
