Forest and Tree Love has been instilled…Forest Week and Tree Day has been celebrated at Near East Primary School

Within the scope of the Forest Week and Tree Day, Near East Primary School organized an event for the grade 2 and grade 3 students in order to emphasize the critical importance of trees, forests and nature. The importance of being a part of the movement of planting trees and restoring forests has also been underlined.

The Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University released that grade 2 and grade 3 students, who engaged in the event, not only drew and painted tree pictures depicting the importance of tree in restoring forests and regulating climate but also played games to draw attention to the importance of tress, forests and nature for the humanity and wildlife. Poems concerning with the Forest Week and Tree Day were read by the students during the celebrations and the choir and orchestra consisting of grade 2 students sang songs emphasizing the love for tree and forest.

Following the choir performance, the students read maxims (wise sayings) relevant to tree and forest and celebrated the event with shows that they performed along with their teachers. All activities that performed by students within the scope of the event attracted great admiration of the parents of the children.

The importance of exerting comprehensive efforts for ensuring a sustainable forestry policy in our country, which has unique endemic plant species and a rich flora, has also been emphasized during the event.
