The experienced the joy of being literate…Near East Junior College realised a Reading Festival with great Enthusiasm

First year students od Near East Junior College had a reading festival to celebrate the joy of becoming literate at the helm of Minister of National Education and Culture Cemal Özyiğit.

It was announced that at the reading festival held at the school, the students found the opportunity to reveal skills and knowledge they had gained throughout the year via well-liked shows. Such that these shows were expressed to be rather successful causing the parents and everyone watching to have splendid time and receive a big round of applause. Subsequent to the festival, Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ presented thank you plaques to all teachers involved in the realisation of the event.

An emphasis on the significance of education in one`s life was placed
Vice Principal of Near East Junior College Mehmet Süleymanoğlu made a speech and placed emphasis on the significance of education in an individual`s life. Furthermore, he stated that becoming literate was the first step to be taken in this direction. He ended his words by expressing gratitude to all teachers involved in realising the event.

In addition to the above, Mehmet Süleymanoğlu asserted that as the Near East family, they wished to raise students fully equipped with the essential skills and knowledge to be successful in the future. For instance, he stated that since English has become a global language, they were offering a bi-lingual education at their school; both in Turkish and English. To add, he stressed that they had innovative courses such as robotic coding included in the school`s curriculum. He also stressed that as Near East schools, they were fully aware of their greatest duty which is to keep up with contemporary innovations in the education offered to our children.

Minister Özyiğit: “We can liken a child learning to read and write to the beginning of an adventure which leads the discover of the universe…”
In his speech, Minister of National Education and Culture Cemal Özyiğit expressed that it was a significant goal to be achieved for children to learn to use their mother tongue effectively. In this regard, he stated that Near East Junior College students had every right to be proud of themselves for achieving this goal. Furthermore, the Minister also stressed the importance of being well-educated and that with the bright minds of the students, they hoped that they would realize history by discovering ideas, inventions and ideals that no one had ever seen or even imagined. The Minister of National Education and Culture ended his words by taking the Turkish Students` Oath.
