April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on the Near East University campus. The celebrations started with the “23 April Children’s Festival” held at Near East Primary School on 22 April by students of classroom teaching who continue their education at Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education and continued on 23 April with performances by Near East Preschool and Near East Primary School students. Following the shows with intense participation, children and their families had fun at the “İKAS Supermarket Children’s Festival” held at the Near East University Campus Festival Area.
First they performed, then they had fun
In the first part of the April 23 shows held in the garden of Near East Primary School, as every year, Near East Preschool students showed off their skills by appearing on stage with their costumes, with the intense interest of their families. In the second part of the shows, which continued with dance shows and games, the April 23 show of Near East Primary School students was presented to their families.
The stars of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, who brought emotional moments to their families with their magnificent performances, spent fun-filled hours at the “İKAS Supermarket Children’s Festival” at the Near East University Campus Festival Area after the performances. Children had a pleasant time on the playgrounds and had fun all day long with surprise activities.
Students of primary school teaching organized a “Children’s Festival”
Children’s April 23 enthusiasm started the day before with the “April 23 Children’s Festival” held at Near East Primary School by students of primary school teaching who continue their education at Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education. All activities at the festival, attended by Near East Primary School students between the ages of 6 and 11, were designed and implemented by Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education, Department of Primary School Teaching students.
The event included many fun activities; Children had fun all day long with competitions and games such as the XOXO game, sculpture game, bean bag, mini basket, parkour, sack race, chair grab, bowling box, and ring hawk. Also at the festival, dart game, guessing box, karaoke, dancing, face painting, hand printing and balance games were also highly appreciated. At the 23 April Children’s Festival, coordinated by Primary School Teaching Department Deputy Head and Lecturer of Atatürk Faculty of Education Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Köprülü, it is also aimed to support children’s cognitive, social and emotional development as well as their physical development.
