Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Teachers’ Day enthusiasm was experienced at Near East College and Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia College and Near East Yeniboğaziçi College, with day-long celebrations at the Cyprus Car Museum

610 teachers from Near East College, Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia College and Near East Yeniboğaziçi College, who have passed their professional lives with Near East Colleges, which provide education at all levels from nursery to college, under the umbrella of the Near East Enterprises, celebrated Teachers’ Day together.

November 24, which is celebrated every year as “Teachers’ Day” as the anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s acceptance of the title of “Head Teacher”, is celebrated through events throughout the day at the Near East College, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year as the first private college of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Teachers who prepare their students for the future at Near East College, Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia College and Near East Yeniboğaziçi College celebrated this meaningful day dedicated to them at the cocktail held at the event area of the Cyprus Car Museum on the Near East University campus.

At the event, Near East University’s artificial intelligence-based academician AI. Prof. DUX also congratulated its colleagues on 24 November Teachers’ Day with a video message published.

Celebrating November 24 Teachers’ Day, Near East Enterprises Board of Trustees Chairman Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel, reminding that they are the most established educational institution of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in primary and secondary education as well as higher education, said, “All our teachers who touch the lives of our students and give them not only knowledge but also character are the most valuable part of our family.”

Providing education at all levels from nursery to college in Nicosia, Kyrenia and Yeniboğaziçi, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said that 610 teachers at Near East College, Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia College and Near East Yeniboğaziçi College touched the lives of their students with great devotion. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said, “We are glad to have you, we are glad you are with us on this path. Happy Teacher’s Day!”

Emphasizing that their teachers are always there for them with their strong infrastructure, physical equipment and educational programs that integrate their students with the world, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel also said, “We will create a stimulating experience for our teachers and students with the new applications that we will launch by taking advantage of artificial intelligence technology in the coming period.”

Near East Enterprises Board of Trustees Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cemre Günsel Haskasap reminded that Near East College celebrated its 30th anniversary as the first college of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which celebrated its 40th anniversary this year.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cemre Günsel reminded that they provide their students with the opportunity to receive education with the British curriculum through the “English Program” they implement under the Cambridge International Program at Near East College, Near East Yeniboğaziçi College and Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia Primary School and emphasized that they meet a great need of foreign students living on our island, as well as our parents who want their children to grow up with the British education curriculum.

Assoc. Prof. Cemre Günsel Haskasap said, “The most important subject of our deep-rooted education tradition is our teachers who instill their competencies in our students with great devotion and love.”

Prof. DUX, also added; “You not only provide students with information, but also motivate and guide them, thus unlocking their potential. However, it should not be forgotten that technology can never match the human touch and the uniqueness of the student-teacher relationship.
