Near East University, Near East Preschool, Near East Primary School and Near East College announced that there will be no increase in tuition and dormitory fees in the 2020-2021 academic year due to the COVID-19 pandemic that affects the whole world and the negative global economic consequences it creates.
In the statement released by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, in line with the decision taken by the Board of Trustees, it is reported that there will be no increase in tuition and dormitory fees for registered students and new students studying in graduate programs in the new education year at the Near East Pre-School, Near East Primary School, Near East College and Near East University. In the statement, it was noted that the fees for education and dormitory applied in the 2019-2020 academic year at the Near East Schools Group and the Near East University will be in effect.

Near East University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel stated that, in the 2020-2021 academic year, Near East Pre-School, Near East Primary School, Near East College and Near East University will not increase the tuition fees in order to enable students and parents to overcome this process more easily due to the negative economic results caused by the coronavirus that has affected the world and still affecting billions of people. Stating that they do their best by determining a road map to ensure that no children are left out of education. Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel stated that their first priority is education and health. Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel stated that students, who are part of the large Near East family, should also act in a sense of trust and solidarity considering their parents’ economic concerns, as well as their academic concerns.
Prof. Dr. Günsel said, “As Near East University, we will mobilize our opportunities by creating a human and moral sensitivity in preparing the new generations for the future, considering the fact that the pandemic can be resolved with a global common consciousness and solidarity.” Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel underlined that the day is the day of solidarity. Our primary priority is to ensure that our children do not fall behind from educational objectives due to the negative economic effects experienced during this period. We will overcome this troublesome process with the least harm. We will ensure that our children do not stay away from education by taking certain economic support measures that will ensure and build the future of our children against the negative impacts of the pandemic.”
